Modelling and simulation to optimize RF transmission lines
Modern communication devices, particularly wireless headsets require multiple RF components to be designed, optimized, implemented, tested and certified to comply with International Regulations and Standards.
In this talk I present some practical examples of RF components used in Communications Devices, such as antennas, transmission lines, couplers, etc. Every design begins with specific performance requirements and constrains, require to be optimized then implemented and tested. In hi frequency electronic design several effects begin to show up, so Electromagnetic and Full Wave Analysis approaches are required to fully model these devices. Particularly, Simulation and Optimization play an important role to speed up designs and avoid expensive prototyping. Several examples of simulations and optimization with Method of Moments MoM and Finite Element Method FEM are presented.
